All Jokes Aside…Being a Leader is Like Being a Stand-up Comedian.

I was reading an interview that Chris Rock did and he talked about how stand-up comedy is the only job where your work is public and you get instant feedback (good or bad). You may have practiced your material in the mirror or with family, but when you show up to that club to try it out in front of strangers…that’s it. Leadership is a lot like that. You write your draft, you run it past your significant other, you re-read your material. But when it’s time to lead and motivate your team, you are hoping that they respond to what you say.
