LeeAndra Khan
LeeAndra Khan is currently the CEO of Civitas Education Partners. LeeAndra is actively pushing leaders and teachers to think outside the box and to reimagine schools and classrooms. She believes that schools and districts should respond to the users…our students. LeeAndra is a guest author for the Chicago Reporter Magazine and Education Post. She has held workshops at the Illinois State Board of Education Conference about Restorative Justice, been the keynote speaker for DePaul University and Michigan State University, and has sat on numerous panels about education. In 2013 she also delivered a TEDx talk titled “The Power Outage”. LeeAndra is also a faculty member at ASCD (Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development) and helps schools and districts with leadership development, personalized learning, cultural competence, equity and STEAM/STEM.
Prior to leading Civitas Education Partners, she was a middle school principal in Oak Park, IL. LeeAndra also spent ten years with the Chicago Public Schools. She served as Principal of Bronzeville Scholastic, Assistant Principal at King College Prep High School and a Math Teacher at Whitney Young Magnet High School. Before beginning her journey into education, she spent 10 years and a Civil Engineer in some of Chicago’s largest firms (Parsons Brinckerhoff, A. Epstein & Sons, and Patrick Engineering). After designing roads, highways, gas stations and bridge inspections, she decided to take her skills and share them with the children of Chicago.
