My journey in education has been rooted in increasing access to equity for children of color. As I have progressed in this career, I realize that much of the work is rooted in beliefs…student beliefs and adult beliefs. What we become is shaped by what we believe. There is a movement around changing student mindsets from fixed to growth. Helping people understand that the brain is a muscle and effort trumps ability is now the work of schools and teachers. I now see my role as helping adults tap into their leadership potential…their leadership mindset.
